This program is designed, firstly, to support the "add on"-qualification of advanced special students in the biomedical sciences participating in the BMEP Academic Year Program. The Academic Year Program was conceived for students of the Biomedical Sciences (Medicine, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, the Health Sciences, etc.)

Secondly, doctoral/PhD projects supported by "Twin-Fellowships"" should be related to medical informatics, molecular imaging etc. and promote exchange between Germany and the St. Petersburg/Baltic Region.

Interested applicants will be expected to have commenced a degree dissertation or doctorate thesis which they would like to continue for a period of 6-8 months as a graduate/postgraduate in Germany or the Baltic Region in order to collate additional experience within their specialized fields.
