International experience and expertise since 1980, a global presence and international contacts at all levels make the IALS a valuable think-tank. This is of benefit to universities, industry, government and international organizations.

In July 2008 IALS-International Academy of Life Sciences and B.Braun AG, Melsungen launched a new joint fellowship program called "B.Braun/IALS Graduate/Postgraduate Fellowship"" Program.

This program is designed, firstly, to support the "add on"-qualification of advanced special students in the biomedical sciences participating in the BMEP Academic Year Program. The Academic Year Program was conceived for students of the Biomedical Sciences (Medicine, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, the Health Sciences, etc.) In the field of Medicine it is geared towards students in their 4th and 5th years of study. Its main aim is to further young scientists, as well as academic careers in Biomedicine and the Life Sciences.

Deadline for applications: February 25th 2009.

Secondly, doctoral/PhD projects supported by "Twin-Fellowships"" should be related to medical informatics, molecular imaging etc. and promote exchange between Germany and the St. Petersburg/Baltic Region.

Interested applicants will be expected to have commenced a degree dissertation or doctorate thesis which they would like to continue for a period of 6-8 months as a graduate/postgraduate in Germany or the Baltic Region in order to collate additional experience within their specialized fields.

Deadline for applications: January 15th 2009.
