International Academy of Life Sciences - Curriculum Vitae: Karsten E. Dreinhöfer

Prof. Karsten E. Dreinhöfer, M.D., is a specialist in orthopedics and trauma surgery, social medicine, physical therapy, emergency medicine, osteology (DVO), chiropractic therapy and health economy (ebs). One of his main scientific interests is Health Service Research. In 2009, he was appointed Head of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at Medical Park in Humboldtmühle, Berlin, as well as Chair of the Department of Musculoskeletal Prevention, Rehabilitation and Health Services Research at the Center for Musculoskeletal Surgery at Charité Universitätsmedizin and Humboldt University. Other appointments include the European Board of Johnson & Johnson Orthopedics in 1997 and Deputy Head of the Department of Orthopedics, University of Ulm, in 2001. Prof. Dreinhöfer is a member of the Executive Board of the Professional Association of Specialists in Orthopedic and Traumatology (BVOU) and of the Board of the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopedics and Traumatology (EFORT). He is editor of the German Orthopaedic Societies journal and is also Director of Development for the International Bone and Joint Decade. Prof. Dreinhöfer holds degrees in Medicine and Health Economy (ebs) from Hannover Medical School and the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel, respectively.
